For New Patients

Thank you for choosing our practice for your child's orthodontic needs.  We look forward to helping your child attain a new healthier smile.

At Dentistry For Children, P.C., we have been creating beautiful smiles for our patients since 1975.  And now, due to popular demand from our parents, we are offering orthodontic treatment for adults as well ( click on 'Adult Orthodontics' tab )..

Your First Visit
If your child is already our pediatric dental patient, we provide complimentary orthodontic examinations at each and every periodic check up visit.  Rest assured that we will refer your child to Dr. Skoler or  Dr. Lin as soon as we determine that a developing malocclusion or orthodontic need warrants.

If your child is not yet a patient of our practice, we look forward to meeting him/her.

All of our initial  appointments with an orthodontist are complimentary.  This initial appointment will consist of a thorough examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. We know your time is valuable, so to expedite treatment, we may also reserve time following the examination for diagnostic records.  The records typically include digital x-rays, photos and impressions for digital study models. Records are essential to developing an appropriate treatment plan.  This additional appointment will last approximately 45 minutes.  If you choose to proceed with comprehensive orthodontic treatment at Dentistry for Children, we will provide you with a $200 records credit towards the overall orthodontic fee.

During the initial examination, the orthodontist will address the following issues:

● Is treatment needed now or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?
● What treatment procedures are required to correct the malocclusion?
● Do any primary or permanent teeth need to be extracted at this time?
● How long will treatment take?

While we can often answer general questions about treatment during the initial examination, a thorough analysis of the diagnostic records is required in order to develop specific treatment recommendations.  After the orthodontist has reviewed the records, we will schedule a consultation visit with the Doctor to discuss treatment specifics, anticipated treatment time and financial arrangements.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your  child's initial orthodontic appointment:

● Any panoramic x-ray taken within the past six months
● Any information you may have regarding your orthodontic insurance coverage

By providing us with this information at your child's first visit, we will be able to give you an estimate of your costs.
